Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has firmly stated that no one can remove him from office except PTI founder Imran Khan, emphasizing that he was appointed by the party leadership and continues to enjoy the support of PTI lawmakers. Speaking to the media at Factory Checkpost in Rawalpindi, the chief minister declared that he would remain in his position unless directed otherwise by Imran Khan.
Dismissal of Forward Bloc Rumors
Afridi dismissed reports of a forward bloc within the party, labeling them as propaganda aimed at diverting public attention. He reiterated that the PTI remains united under Imran Khan's leadership and rejected speculation about internal divisions.
Criticism of Federal Budget
Criticizing the federal government's upcoming budget, Afridi alleged that it would place an additional burden on the public. He claimed that rising debt, a growing trade deficit, and lower-than-target tax collections reflect economic mismanagement by the current administration.
Demand for Imran Khan's Medical Care
The chief minister also demanded that Imran Khan be shifted to a hospital for medical treatment under the supervision of his personal doctors and in the presence of his family. He urged authorities to allow the PTI founder’s family to meet him if party leaders were not being granted access.
Afridi's remarks come amid ongoing political tensions and speculation about stability within the PTI. He reaffirmed that the party remains steadfast under Imran Khan's leadership.
