Security Forces eliminated 22 Khwarij terrorists belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna al Khwarij in an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Shewa in North Waziristan district.
Operation Details
According to a press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday, during the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location. After an intense exchange of fire, twenty-two Khwarij, belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij, were sent to hell within the last twenty-four hours.
Background of the Operation
Based on credible intelligence leads regarding the presence of Khwarij, an Area Sanitization Operation has been conducted by Security Forces in the general area of Shewa in North Waziristan District since 17 May 2026. Weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from the killed Indian-sponsored Khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
Current Status
Presently, the sanitization operation is in progress, and the area has been effectively cordoned off by security forces, the ISPR further stated. Evidence further confirms that the Khwarij coerced and intimidated the local population, forcing their compliance to obtain safe passage using them as human shields. Such deplorable acts are highly condemnable, and no justification can rationalize the endangerment of public lives.
Government Commitment
The sanitization operation continues to eliminate holed-up Khwarij from the area, as the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of "Azm-e-Istehkam" (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, the news release concluded.
