Wedding Celebration Turns Deadly in Kala Shah Kaku
A festive wedding ceremony in the Ravi Rayan area on the outskirts of Kala Shah Kaku descended into chaos and mourning when a young man was fatally shot during the traditional mehndi ritual. The incident, which occurred following a minor dispute, has left the local community in shock and prompted swift police action.
Details of the Tragic Shooting
According to police reports, the tragedy unfolded during the rasm-e-hina celebrations when an armed relative allegedly opened fire at the groom, Junaid. In the ensuing confusion, a local youth identified as Shakeel Ahmed, who had arrived at the event with friends to collect money showered during the ceremony, was critically injured by a stray bullet. He was rushed to a hospital but later succumbed to his wounds.
Local residents provided further insight into the motive behind the attack. They stated that the prime suspect, Gulfam alias Vicky, suspected that the groom had recorded and circulated videos involving his relatives, leading to the violent outburst. This allegation, though unconfirmed, highlights the potential role of personal grievances in escalating the situation.
Police Response and Investigation
Law enforcement authorities acted promptly in the aftermath of the shooting. Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the case, while the main accused managed to escape and remains at large. A formal case has been registered, and further investigation is currently underway to uncover all aspects of the incident.
In response to the tragedy, the wedding festivities were immediately called off, casting a pall over what was meant to be a joyous occasion. The community is now grappling with the loss and the sudden turn of events.
Separate Incident: Roof Collapse Claims Lives in Ferozewala
In an unrelated but equally tragic event, two young sisters lost their lives in a roof collapse incident in Pathan Colony near Minar Wali Mosque in the Ferozewala area. Rescue officials reported that the victims, eight-year-old Shabnam and 12-year-old Amina, were buried under the debris of a dilapidated house roof and died on the spot.
Six other occupants sustained injuries in the collapse, with one person remaining in critical condition. Local residents assisted in shifting the injured to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. This incident underscores the ongoing issues related to infrastructure safety in certain areas.
Both tragedies serve as stark reminders of the fragility of life and the need for vigilance in community safety and conflict resolution.
