In a significant move to streamline government hiring, the Chief Secretary of Sindh, Syed Asif Haider Shah, has issued a firm deadline for all provincial departments to advertise their job vacancies on a centralized online platform.

Deadline Set for Job Portal Compliance

Presiding over a crucial meeting of the Secretary Committee in Karachi on Friday, Chief Secretary Syed Asif Haider Shah directed all departmental secretaries to ensure job advertisements are published on the Sindh Job Portal by the end of January. He explicitly instructed that any department which has not yet utilized the portal must do so within this timeframe. The meeting saw attendance from the secretaries of all provincial departments.

Broad Agenda for Governance Reforms

The session covered a wide-ranging agenda aimed at improving administrative efficiency. Key discussion points included the functionality of the job portal, pending pension matters, issues related to the public accounts committee, and audit paragraphs. The Chief Secretary revealed that the provincial cabinet meetings have now been fully digitized. He further ordered that all summaries from critical departments like Law, Services, General Administration, and Universities & Boards must be sent to the Chief Minister in digital format only.

He emphasized the prompt resolution of complaints received from the Prime Minister’s Complaint Cell, instructing all secretaries to address these grievances without delay. Furthermore, he directed them to establish robust complaint redressal management mechanisms within their respective departments.

Directives on Projects, Pensions, and Punctuality

A series of specific instructions were issued to enhance service delivery and employee welfare. All secretaries were told to ensure the timely completion of ongoing development projects. In a major relief for government employees, the CS directed that pension cases must be resolved within one year, and medical reimbursement claims should be settled within six months.

To improve the work culture and public interface, the Chief Secretary stressed the importance of punctuality in secretariat offices. He instructed every department to take concrete steps to improve the quality and efficiency of public service delivery, making government offices more responsive to citizens' needs.
