In a direct outreach effort, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Minister for Irrigation, Riaz Khan, opened the doors of his hujra to the public this Saturday, listening to and addressing a host of local issues.
A Platform for Public Grievances
The public day was held at the minister's hujra in the Malik Pur Pir Baba area of Buner district. During the event, Riaz Khan met with local elders, party workers, and residents who presented a range of complaints and administrative difficulties. Participants reported that the provincial minister gave them a patient hearing.
Demonstrating a hands-on approach, Mr. Khan resolved several matters immediately on the spot. For issues requiring further action, he issued clear instructions to the relevant government departments, demanding a timely and effective resolution.
Politics of Service and Planned Movement
Addressing the gathering, Minister Khan defined the core of his political philosophy. He stated that addressing public concerns was the true essence of politics and that real satisfaction comes only from serving the people. He emphasized that the politics of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is not driven by a hunger for power but is firmly rooted in a vision of public welfare and selfless service.
The minister also took the opportunity to brief attendees on the party's upcoming strategy. He revealed that preparations are underway for a planned street movement, as per directives from the party's founding chairman, Imran Khan. This movement, he assured, would be organized in a disciplined and effective manner under the leadership of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and PTI's provincial president, Junaid Akbar Khan.
Struggle for Chairman's Release and Rule of Law
Riaz Khan was unequivocal about the party's continued focus on its imprisoned leader. He reiterated that PTI's struggle for the release of Imran Khan would persist. The minister vowed that efforts would continue until three key objectives are met:
- The rule of law is ensured.
- The sanctity of the Constitution is upheld.
- Imran Khan is released.
He added that, regardless of circumstances, PTI would carry on its struggle for the protection of public rights and what he termed as true freedom for the nation.
