The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has officially announced Eid-ul-Adha holidays for the year 2026. According to a notification issued by the IHC registrar, all courts and offices under the jurisdiction of the high court will remain closed from May 26 to May 28, 2026.
Holiday Schedule
The three-day holiday period begins on Tuesday, May 26, and ends on Thursday, May 28. Regular court proceedings and administrative functions will resume on Friday, May 29, 2026. The decision aligns with the federal government's official holiday calendar for the religious festival.
Impact on Court Operations
During the holiday period, all judicial and administrative work will be suspended. However, essential services and emergency matters will be handled as per standard procedures. Lawyers and litigants are advised to plan their cases accordingly.
The announcement comes as the nation prepares to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha, one of the most significant Islamic festivals, marked by prayers, sacrificial rituals, and community gatherings. The IHC's holiday schedule ensures that court employees and the public can observe the religious occasion with their families.
