Ambassador of Turkiye to Pakistan Dr Irfan Naziroglu called on Governor Faisal Karim Kundi in Islamabad on Tuesday. The two sides discussed measures to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Commitment to Deepening Ties
During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkiye. They also explored avenues to expand cooperation in trade, investment, education, and culture. A particular focus was placed on promoting economic links between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Turkiye.
Appreciation for Turkiye's Support
Governor Kundi expressed appreciation for Turkiye's support for Pakistan during the recent Pakistan-India conflict, highlighting the strength of the bilateral relationship.
Sister City Announcement
The Turkish ambassador announced that Peshawar would be declared a sister city of a city in Turkiye. This initiative aims to enhance people-to-people and institutional connections between the two nations.
Training Opportunities for Youth
Ambassador Naziroglu also stated that Turkiye would cooperate in providing training opportunities for Pakistani youth in information technology and other modern technological fields. This collaboration is expected to boost skill development and innovation in Pakistan.
