Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Participates in R4 Ministerial Meeting in Cairo
Cairo hosted a significant regional diplomatic gathering on Sunday as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar visited Egypt to attend the R4 Ministerial Meeting. The invitation came from Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdellaty. The meeting convened the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan, who discussed key regional and international developments and reiterated their shared commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and coordinated efforts to address common challenges.
Joint Call on President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi
During the visit, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, along with his counterparts, made a joint call on President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Dar conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Pakistan’s leadership and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding, brotherly ties with Egypt. He also welcomed President el-Sisi’s acceptance of an invitation to visit Pakistan at an early mutually convenient date.
Bilateral Meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister
On the sidelines of the R4 meeting, Senator Ishaq Dar held a bilateral meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdellaty. The two sides reviewed the full spectrum of Pakistan–Egypt relations and expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of cooperation. They agreed to further expand collaboration in trade, investment, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. Additionally, they committed to reinvigorating existing bilateral mechanisms to deepen institutional engagement.
Focus on Regional and Global Issues
The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest. They reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination at bilateral and multilateral levels, stressing the importance of promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development. Deputy Prime Minister Dar thanked the Egyptian government for its warm hospitality and the excellent arrangements made for the successful conduct of the R4 Ministerial Meeting.
