Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday for a state visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received him at Nur Khan Airbase. The ceremonial welcome included a 21-gun salute and a flypast by fighter jets.
High-Level Delegation and Officials Present
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, and other senior officials were present. Dr. Pezeshkian is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and other high-ranking officials.
Schedule of Meetings
During the visit, President Pezeshkian will meet President Asif Ali Zardari and hold talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. This marks Dr. Pezeshkian's second visit to Pakistan as President of Iran.
Foreign Minister Araghchi's Arrival
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad as part of the delegation. He was warmly received by Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar at Nur Khan Airbase, according to a Foreign Office press statement.
