In his message issued on Friday, the Sindh Governor described May 28, 1998, as “a monumental and unforgettable day in Pakistan’s history, when the defense of our beloved homeland was rendered permanently invincible.”
Symbol of National Sovereignty
The Sindh Governor emphasized that Youm-e-Takbeer stands as a shining symbol of Pakistan’s national sovereignty, defensive capability, honor, and dignity. He noted that following these historic nuclear tests, Pakistan emerged as the first nuclear power in the Muslim world and the seventh globally. This achievement marked a significant milestone in the country’s history, ensuring its security and deterrence capabilities against any external threats.

Governor Hashmi paid rich tribute to the courageous leadership of former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, crediting his resolute decision-making under immense international pressure.
