The National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan recently convened a crucial meeting at its Hyderabad office to evaluate the ongoing Immunisation Project. The session served as a monthly progress review for activities in December 2025 and laid the groundwork for planned initiatives in January 2026.
Focus on Field Achievements and Future Strategies
The gathering had a clear agenda: to scrutinise accomplishments on the ground, pinpoint existing shortcomings, and formulate actionable plans. A primary objective was to devise effective methods for connecting with parents of children who have either refused vaccines or defaulted on their immunisation schedules. This targeted approach aims to significantly enhance routine immunisation coverage within the project's focus communities.
The meeting was steered by Haq Nawaz, the Project Manager. Attendees included Abdul Majeed Mallah, alongside other core project team members and field staff. Participants provided updates from their respective operational areas, fostering a comprehensive view of the project's reach and impact.
Collaborative Efforts and Formal Recognition
A significant part of the discussion centred on community engagement techniques, coordination frameworks, and communication plans to tackle vaccine hesitancy. During the proceedings, a notable achievement was highlighted. The District Health Officer (DHO) of Hyderabad formally acknowledged and highly appreciated NDF's active involvement in the recent polio vaccination campaign.
Further appreciation came from the HELP Organisation Karachi, which recognised NDF's collaborative spirit and strong partnership in bolstering immunisation efforts at the district level. This external validation underscores the forum's impactful role in public health initiatives.
Reaffirming Commitment to Public Health
NDF used the platform to reaffirm its steadfast commitment to supporting government-led immunisation programs. The forum emphasised its mission to build and strengthen community trust. This is achieved through sustained awareness campaigns, proactive advocacy, and inclusive outreach programs. A special focus remains on reaching underserved and vulnerable populations to ensure no one is left behind in the quest for better health outcomes.
The review meeting marks a continuous effort by NDF Pakistan to ensure the effectiveness of its immunisation drive, combining field insights with strategic planning to protect children from preventable diseases.
