These remarks were delivered during an awareness rally and a subsequent preparatory meeting presided over by the deputy commissioner. According to an official handout, the rally was organized by the district administration in connection with the upcoming Polio National Immunization Days (NIDs) scheduled for February 2026.
The event commenced from the taluka headquarters hospital and proceeded to the press club, symbolizing a community-wide mobilization effort. It was led by Deputy Commissioner Matiari Muhammad Yousif Shaikh, who was accompanied by officers from various government departments, civil servants, and representatives of civil society organizations.

During the meeting, health officials provided a detailed briefing on the upcoming polio campaign. They informed attendees that the Polio National Immunization Days will be conducted from February 2 to 5, 2026, aiming to reach every child in the district.
A substantial target has been set to administer polio drops to 181,722 children across Matiari. To achieve this goal, the district administration has deployed a robust workforce, including:
- 648 dedicated teams to carry out door-to-door vaccinations
- 38 Union Council Medical Officers (UCMOs) to oversee operations at the grassroots level
- 3 taluka supervisors to ensure coordination and quality control
This extensive deployment underscores the administration's commitment to leaving no child unprotected in the fight against polio.
