Karachi Father, Youth Held in Child Sexual Abuse Case

Police in Karachi have detained two suspects, including the father of the victims, after a woman reported that her husband sexually abused their three minor daughters in the Aath Chowk area of Lyari. The case was registered on Tuesday based on the mother's complaint.

Case Registered Under PPC Sections

According to police officials, a case has been registered under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force with intent to outrage modesty) and 376(2) (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code. The complainant alleged that her husband, identified as Waqar, subjected their daughters—aged seven, five, and two—to inappropriate sexual acts.

Medical Examination Conducted

The children were taken to the Police Surgeon's Office at Civil Hospital, where medical examinations were performed and samples were collected for forensic analysis. Authorities stated that the investigation would proceed based on the medical reports.

Second Suspect Arrested

The mother further alleged that one of her daughters disclosed a separate incident involving a local youth in the same street where the children attend tuition classes. The suspect, identified as Adam, has also been taken into custody. Police said both detained men have denied the allegations during initial questioning.

Police Urge Responsible Reporting

“Further investigation is under way, and the facts will become clear after medical and forensic reports,” a Kalakot police spokesperson said. In a statement, the SSP City spokesperson emphasized that the case was being handled with utmost sensitivity given the young ages of the children. He urged the public and media to act responsibly and avoid premature reporting that could affect the investigation and the well-being of the minors. “The matter is extremely sensitive. It is important to prioritise the dignity and protection of the children over sensationalism,” the spokesperson added.
