In a significant move to support its personnel, the Punjab Police leadership has sanctioned a major financial package for medical care. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has given his official approval for the disbursement of more than Rs. 3.015 million. This fund is dedicated to covering the medical expenses of police employees and their immediate family members, highlighting the department's ongoing commitment to their health and well-being.
Substantial Financial Aid for Critical Treatments
The approved funds have been allocated to address a range of serious health issues faced by the force members. According to details released by the Punjab Police spokesperson, Constable Irfan Ali received a substantial sum of Rs. 500,000 for the treatment of a critical illness. For a necessary knee surgery, Constable Muneeb-ur-Rehman was granted Rs. 300,000.
Further allocations include Rs. 250,000 each for Head Constable Atta Muhammad and Senior Traffic Warden Muhammad Naveed to manage their medical bills. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ashraf was issued Rs. 200,000 specifically for his hernia treatment.
Widespread Support Across the Force
The welfare initiative extends to a broader group of personnel, ensuring wide-reaching support. A list of constables and wardens, including Hameed Akhtar, Zeeshan Akram, Sabir Hussain, Baqar Raza, Shaman Ali, and Security Constable Muhammad Asif Rasheed, were each provided with Rs. 100,000 for their healthcare needs.
The assistance also reached retired and senior officers, demonstrating that the department's care extends beyond active service. Retired Inspector Muhammad Siddique, Inspector Muzaffar Khan, and Sub-Inspector Waqar Younas were each granted Rs. 100,000. Combined disbursements were also approved, with Constables Muhammad Faheem and Kashif Muneer receiving a total of Rs. 275,000, and Senior Traffic Warden Babar Rasool and Constable Ghazanfar Abbas jointly getting Rs. 140,000.
