Angry Birds Movie 3 First Look: New Feathered Family

The Angry Birds Movie 3 has unveiled its first official look, introducing a new generation of feathered characters voiced by rising stars Walker Scobell and Emma Myers. The upcoming animated sequel shifts its focus from Red's heroic adventures to an entirely different challenge: parenthood.

Returning Cast and New Additions

Returning to voice the famously hot-headed Red, Jason Sudeikis is joined once again by Rachel Bloom as Silver. This time, however, the pair are raising three children. Scobell voices Glider, the couple's adventurous teenage son, while Myers plays June, their creative and fiercely independent teenage daughter. Kim Kardashian's son Psalm West voices the youngest member of the family, baby hatchling Olly, and James Austin Johnson lends his voice to the family's pet spider, Fuzzy.

Cast Reflections on Joining the Franchise

Speaking about joining the franchise, Percy Jackson and the Olympians star Scobell recalled growing up playing the popular mobile game and revealed that Chuck was always his favourite character. Myers, known for Wednesday, also shared her childhood connection to the game, admitting she had a soft spot for the pigs and often felt guilty attacking them while playing. According to Myers, the film explores Red's attempts to be a “cool” and involved father, often with embarrassing results.

Plot and Character Dynamics

The story follows the challenges of raising children at different stages of life, from a baby to teenagers, while Red struggles to balance keeping his children safe with allowing them the freedom to grow. Scobell described Glider as a thrill-seeker who is constantly looking for his next dangerous adventure, creating plenty of headaches for Red. Myers added that while the children may share some of their father's fiery personality, much of their frustration comes from the cringeworthy situations he unintentionally creates.

Returning Favorites and Expanded Cast

The sequel also welcomes back fan favourites Bomb and Chuck, voiced by Danny McBride and Josh Gad, alongside Silver. The film is directed by John Rice from a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman and features an expanded voice cast that includes Keke Palmer, Lily James, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Sam Richardson and Anna Cathcart. The Angry Birds Movie 3 is set to arrive in cinemas on December 23, 2026.
