Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce exchanged vows on Friday in a lavish, star-studded wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City, according to guests who described an intimate garden setting inside the arena. The union was confirmed by billboards flashing "JUST&T MARRIED!" outside the venue. No official photos have been released, but details emerged from attendees and media reports.
Intimate Garden Inside the Arena
The wedding took place in a cordoned-off section of the arena, transformed into a garden despite the venue's typical use for basketball games, hockey matches, and concerts. George Stephanopoulos, anchor of ABC's Good Morning America, described the setting as "as intimate as it could possibly be given that it was Madison Square Garden" and called it a "garden inside the Garden." He added, "It's hard to imagine that a place that big and a wedding with such stars could feel so personal and so intimate."
Celebrity Guests and Performances
The guest list included more than 1,000 people, with A-list celebrities such as Selena Gomez, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, Paul McCartney, Gracie Abrams, Jason Sudeikis, and Hugh Grant. Former Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks, a friend of Swift, performed at the wedding. Robin Roberts, co-anchor of Good Morning America, confirmed that the couple wrote their own vows and said the wedding had many personalized touches, including neighbors and high school friends in attendance. "It was like any wedding that you would attend," she said, except for the star power.
Wedding Attire and Details
Swift's team confirmed that the couple wore looks by Christian Dior. Adam Aron, CEO of AMC Theatres, posted a detailed account on social media platform X, later removed, describing the ceremony. He wrote that the space was "devoid of any notion that a basketball or hockey game ever shared that space." He noted, "After some relaxing and mellow romantic songs played to settle the house, a few violins and cello ushered in the wedding party. Headlined by handsome Travis in a white tux, and a jaw-dropping Taylor in a stunning white wedding dress with a long veiled train." Aron mentioned he had been in "Taylor Swift's orbit" since AMC released the singer's Eras Tour concert film in 2023.
No-Phones Policy
Joseph Kahn, director of several of Swift's music videos, joked about the event's no-phones policy on X, saying, "I haven't been without my phone that long since 1992." A representative for Swift did not respond to questions from Reuters on Saturday.
