Katseye leader Sophia has provided a definitive update on Manon's status within the group, confirming that the singer remains a member despite her ongoing hiatus and emphasizing that her health must come first. In a recent interview with Allure, Sophia addressed fan concerns and uncertainty surrounding Manon's absence, urging patience while her bandmate focuses on her well-being.
Sophia's Statement on Manon's Hiatus
Speaking to Allure, Sophia said, "Because we did announce that it is about her well-being, it's not our place or anybody else's place to rush her. We love her and the fans love her. The people love her. They love Katseye." The comments come over four months after HYBE x Geffen announced on February 20, 2026, that Manon would temporarily step away from group activities to focus on her health.
Katseye's Activities Without Manon
Since Manon's hiatus began, Katseye has continued promotions as a five-member group. This includes a performance at Coachella and preparations for their upcoming EP, WILD. Despite the lineup change, the group maintains its identity as a six-member ensemble, according to Allure, with members still referring to Manon as part of the group.
Fan Concerns Addressed
Sophia acknowledged the ongoing curiosity from fans, stating, "If I was in their place I would be asking too, and so we understand." Earlier this month, she had revealed how difficult it has been for the group to move forward without all six members together. "It's hard to keep going with something that was built with all six girls," she said, adding that Manon "loves you all so much."
Manon's Own Reassurances
Manon has previously reassured fans that she is "healthy" and "okay," and confirmed having positive conversations with the label regarding her future. However, neither HYBE nor Geffen has provided a timeline for her return.
Upcoming Releases and Tour
Katseye is preparing for the release of their new EP WILD on August 14, 2026, and the sold-out WILDWORLD Tour, which will take the group across North America and Europe later this year.
