Sehwan Awakens with Spiritual Fervor for 774th Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar

The historic town of Sehwan has once again been enveloped in a radiant sea of light, devotion, and spiritual energy as final preparations for the 774th three-day Urs of the revered Sufi saint Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar are now complete. This annual event, one of the largest spiritual gatherings in the region, draws devotees from across Pakistan and beyond, creating an atmosphere of profound reverence and unity.

Massive Pilgrimage and Illuminated Shrine

Authorities estimate that more than three million pilgrims are expected to participate in the Urs, with echoes of the iconic chant "Dama Dam Mast Qalandar" resonating through the air as devotees continue to pour into Sehwan. The shrine of Hazrat Syed Lal Shahbaz Qalandar Muhammad Usman has been beautifully adorned with decorative lights and advanced digital displays, enhancing the spiritual ambiance and paying homage to the saint's legacy.

Official Ceremonies and Security Measures

Official Urs ceremonies are scheduled to commence on February 7, with Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori anticipated to inaugurate the event. To ensure the safety and security of all attendees, stringent arrangements have been implemented. A robust security force comprising around 5,000 police personnel, 300 Rangers, 100 Pakistan Army soldiers, and officers from the Pakistan Navy has been deployed across the town.

Additionally, a modern command and CCTV control room has been established at the Sehwan Gymkhana ground, supported by more than 350 CCTV cameras installed at key locations. DSP Sehwan confirmed that all security agencies are working in close coordination to maintain a peaceful and incident-free environment throughout the Urs.

Healthcare and Preparatory Activities

Medical camps have been set up at various strategic points to provide immediate care to pilgrims, and an emergency has been declared at the Syed Abdullah Shah Institute to handle any health-related issues. Even before the formal start of the Urs, Sehwan has come alive with vibrant activity, reflecting the deep spiritual connection between devotees and the sacred shrine.

As the town awakens to this grand celebration, the court of Qalandar stands ready to welcome lovers and seekers from far and wide, continuing a tradition of devotion that spans centuries.
