Khumariyan Band to Headline PNCA's Inaugural Live Series in Islamabad
The Khumariyan band, hailing from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, is set to take centre stage at the first edition of the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) live series. This landmark event is scheduled for 14 February at the PNCA in Islamabad, with performances commencing at 7.30pm.
A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity
Khumariyan is widely recognised for its powerful fusion of traditional Pashto folk music with contemporary influences. Their unique tunes focus on elevating music as a medium of peace, breaking away from the South Asian tradition of vocal-based music. The band composes with minimal vocal fragments to enhance overall harmony, blending traditional folk elements with modern styles in an attempt to preserve musical heritage and art.
