Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has reaffirmed the government's commitment to maintaining close engagement with traders and industrialists, saying consultations with the business community will remain central to shaping economic policies and future budgets.
Consultations with Business Community
Addressing a ceremony at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the minister said recommendations from chambers of commerce and trade representatives were considered during the preparation of the current federal budget. He added that consultations for the next budget would begin much earlier to ensure broader participation from businesses across the country.
Strengthening Tax Collection
Aurangzeb called on traders and business organisations to work closely with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to strengthen the tax collection system and help boost national revenues. He stressed that while the private sector is responsible for driving business and investment, it is the government's responsibility to provide a stable and business-friendly environment that supports economic growth.
Support for SMEs
The finance minister also assured the business community that access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would be expanded further to encourage industrial development, investment and economic activity.
