Sindh Police Cancels Housing Over Unpaid Bills

The Sindh Police has officially cancelled the housing allotments of 19 personnel residing in Garden Police Lines due to non-payment of electricity bills, as per official documents. The affected individuals have been ordered to vacate their government quarters immediately. This action follows a decision to enforce strict measures against police employees who have failed to clear outstanding electricity dues, which amount to millions of rupees.

Violation of Housing Policies

According to the documents, the personnel were found to be in violation of government housing allotment policies because of their failure to pay utility bills. Copies of the cancellation orders have surfaced, confirming that the officers must hand over possession of their residences to the Estate Management Branch without any delay.

Background of the Decision

The move comes after a report submitted by the SP Headquarters South prompted the Additional Inspector General of Karachi to take serious notice of the matter. The officials facing action include head constables, assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), and constables who were residing in government quarters at Garden Police Lines.
