Pre-monsoon showers swept across several parts of the country on Thursday, bringing light to heavy rainfall and strong winds to various regions.

Punjab Hit by Heavy Rains

In Punjab, rain of varying intensity was reported in multiple districts. Rawalpindi and Islamabad received heavy downpours accompanied by gusty winds, while Attock and adjoining areas also experienced rainfall.

The downpours inundated several low-lying areas, disrupting traffic and daily activities. Sections of the Grand Trunk (GT) Road were submerged under accumulated rainwater, giving the appearance of a flowing river.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Weather Update

Parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were similarly affected by pre-monsoon weather. Peshawar witnessed heavy rain and hailstorms, while Abbottabad and nearby areas received rainfall coupled with strong winds.

In Abbottabad, a cart vendor sustained serious injuries after a tree fell near the Government Girls Degree College during the storm. Heavy rainfall was also recorded in Karak, Haripur, Ghazi and Khanpur.
