Petrol, Diesel Prices Unchanged in Pakistan for Next Week

The federal government on Friday announced that petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices will remain unchanged for the coming week. According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been maintained at Rs299.50 per litre, while high-speed diesel will continue to be sold at Rs311.47 per litre.

Background of the Price Decision

This decision follows a substantial reduction in petroleum prices announced on June 19, when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved a cut of Rs74 per litre in petrol and Rs67 per litre in high-speed diesel. The reduction aimed to pass on the benefit of lower international oil prices to consumers.

Stability in Fuel Rates

With the latest announcement, the government has opted to retain the existing fuel prices, providing stability in petroleum rates for the upcoming week. This move ensures that consumers continue to benefit from the earlier reduction without any immediate increase.
