Pakistan Hosts Mango Festival in Beijing for China Ties

The Pakistan Embassy in China hosted a mango festival in Beijing on Thursday, part of celebrations marking 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations. Themed as the “Pakistan-China Silk Road Mango Festival 2026,” the event was organized at Pakistan House and co-hosted with the Asia-Africa Trade Promotion Office.

Festival Draws Over 400 Guests

The vibrant festival brought together over 400 guests from all walks of life, including officials, diplomatic envoys, business leaders, media representatives, artists, and representatives of cultural and trade organizations. The event showcased Pakistan’s world-famous mangoes and a curated range of mango-based products, highlighting the country’s fertile agricultural landscape and its long-standing reputation for premium fruit exports.

Ambassador Describes Mangoes as ‘King of Fruits’

In his remarks, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, Khalil Hashmi, described mangoes as the “King of Fruits” and a symbol of Pakistan’s cultural heritage. He highlighted the unique characteristics of Pakistani mangoes such as distinct aroma, sweetness and taste, adding that these mangoes were an emblem of Pakistani hospitality, warmth, and friendship. Sharing Pakistani mangoes with Chinese friends, he said, reflected the spirit of goodwill and deepening of friendship between the two nations and people. He further emphasized that the festival sought to blend Pakistani culture, commerce and cuisine.

Prominent Guests and MoUs Signed

The event was graced by several prominent guests, including senior Chinese officials from Beijing and other cities, representatives of cultural organization such as Long Yuxiang, Chairman of the China International Cultural Exchange Centre, Liu Guangyuan, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Dong-E-E-Jiao Co., Ltd, President of the China Fruit Marketing Association, alongside members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of Pakistani mango farmers and exporters. The attendees commended the Embassy’s continued efforts in promoting Pakistan’s cultural and agricultural excellence in China.

Two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) were signed between China Ole High End Super Market and Tianjin Midtrans Int Co., as well as Hainan Jiao Long Technology Co. and RIC Nexus on mango trade and logistics. The MoU marks another important milestone in strengthening Pakistan-China collaboration in the agricultural sector.

Cultural Performances and Mango Varieties

The guests were also treated to vibrant cultural performances by the renowned Pakistani music band “Kaltoor” and talented students of the Pakistan Embassy College Beijing, who performed a delightful repertoire of traditional Pakistani and Chinese songs, adding a unique cultural dimension to the celebrations. Four varieties of mangoes were presented on the occasion, and guests relished the unique taste and texture of Sindhri, Chaunsa, Anwar Ratol and Dusehri.

Second Edition Concludes on High Note

This was the second edition of the mango festival organized by the Embassy in Beijing. It concluded on a high note as it added a human and cultural dimension to the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China and underscored the growing cultural, agricultural, and economic partnership between the two countries.
