Surprise Inspection at THQ Hospital Kot Addu
Deputy Commissioner Kot Addu Bilal Saleem conducted an unscheduled visit to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital on Wednesday to evaluate healthcare services and emergency response readiness for Muharram-ul-Haram. The surprise inspection aimed to ensure that medical facilities are fully prepared to handle any contingencies during the holy month.
Wards and Staff Reviewed
During the visit, the deputy commissioner toured the Emergency Ward, General Ward, and other departments. He scrutinised the availability of doctors, paramedical staff, medicines, and essential medical resources. Staff attendance was verified, and Saleem personally interacted with patients and their attendants to gather feedback on the quality of care provided.
Special Arrangements for Mourners
Bilal Saleem also inspected a dedicated room set up for mourners (Azadars) observing Muharram rituals. He examined the stock of medicines, medical equipment, and other facilities arranged to provide prompt medical assistance to devotees. The deputy commissioner emphasised the need for uninterrupted access to all essential medicines and healthcare supplies, directing the hospital administration to maintain adequate inventory at all times.
Zero Tolerance for Negligence
Reiterating the administration's commitment to public safety, Saleem instructed authorities to ensure full availability of medical staff, medicines, and equipment to respond effectively to emergencies. “Protection of human lives is our top priority. No negligence or laxity will be tolerated during Muharram-ul-Haram,” he warned. He further directed that timely and quality healthcare services must be guaranteed under all circumstances.
According to official sources, the inspection is part of a broader provincial initiative. The Punjab government has rolled out a digital monitoring plan for Muharram, leveraging technology to track real-time preparedness across districts.
