Christian Community Demands Uninterrupted Water Supply

Members of the Christian community in Landi Kotal have appealed to the provincial government and relevant authorities to restore an uninterrupted supply of potable water from a tube well installed by the Public Health Engineering Department for their colony.

Press Conference at Landi Kotal Press Club

Addressing a press conference at the Landi Kotal Press Club on Wednesday, Pastor Ilyas George, Arshad Maseeh, Daud Imran, Israr, and other community representatives said the department had installed the tube well for the Christian Colony in Malakano village, Tehsil Landi Kotal. They alleged, however, that the intended water supply had been disrupted due to the actions of the landowner on whose property the facility is located.

Allegations Against Landowner

The speakers alleged that the landowner, identified as Subedar Tariq, had repeatedly prevented water from being supplied to the colony on various pretexts while instead selling water to private tanker operators. They said the disruption had forced residents to purchase water from private tankers at their own expense, imposing an unnecessary financial burden on already struggling families.

Appeal to Government

The community representatives urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the relevant departments to take immediate notice of the issue, ensure the regular supply of water from the tube well to the Christian Colony, and provide lasting relief to the affected residents.
