The third day of the Young Leaders Conference (YLC) 2025 in Lahore ignited crucial conversations on the role of youth in a complex world. Centered on the powerful theme of manifesting informed citizenship, the day challenged participants to critically examine systems of power, responsibility, and social change.
Deconstructing Narratives and Systems
The day commenced with reflective sessions, setting a contemplative stage for the deep dialogues to follow. Ali Rez's session, Creativity Is a Superpower, unpacked how stories and narratives fundamentally shape our societies. This was followed by Atiya Zaidi's Think Global, Act Local, which stressed the need to pair global awareness with impactful local action.
An interactive activity led by Ali Haider, titled Breaking the Narrative, took this exploration further. Young leaders dissected how narratives are built, their profound influence on public opinion, and their real-world impact on communities. The exercise was a masterclass in critical thinking, emphasizing personal and collective duty in storytelling.
Through immersive simulations like Paisa Aur Power, participants experienced firsthand the dynamics of money, alliances, and influence in decision-making processes. Sessions by Syed Habibullah (Who Is Responsible for What?) and Irfan Junejo (When Youth Took Charge) delved into themes of accountability, governance, and the expanding role of young people in national and global discourse.
Art as a Tool for Awareness and Change
The evening transformed into a celebration of creative expression as a vehicle for social impact. Breakout sessions spanned writing, journalism, theatre, dance, music, and digital media. These workshops demonstrated that art remains a potent instrument for raising awareness, fostering resistance, and driving meaningful change, allowing participants to channel their insights into powerful forms of communication.
A Celebration of Resilience and Purpose
The day culminated in a red-carpet dinner and an inspiring segment called Warrior Stories, which honored the resilience, voices, and shared purpose of Pakistan's youth. Day 3 of YLC 2025 powerfully reinforced the conference's mission: to cultivate conscious, informed, and engaged citizens who are prepared to question established systems, participate actively in their communities, and lead with both empathy and a strong sense of responsibility.
