Punjab Finalizes Departure Plan for National Games
The Punjab sports contingent is set to embark on their journey to Karachi for the 35th National Games in a carefully coordinated three-phase departure plan. This strategic approach was finalized during a crucial preparatory meeting held at Lahore's National Hockey Stadium on Friday.
Phased Departure Schedule Announced
According to Khizar Afzaal Chaudhary, the Director General of Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab, the departure schedule has been meticulously planned. Hockey, boxing, and wrestling teams will be the first to travel on December 3, followed by the remaining athletes and officials who will depart on December 4 and December 6.
The high-level meeting brought together key officials including Idris Haider Khawaja from the Punjab Olympic Association, Rana Nadeem Anjum, Abid Shaukat, and representatives from all provincial sports associations. Among the notable attendees were Tayyab Sohail, Aqeel Javed Butt, M Waqar, Tahir Waheed Jatt, M Mansoor, and Ms Ambreen.
Comprehensive Preparations Underway
During the session, officials from each sports association provided detailed briefings about their teams' readiness levels. Several critical decisions were made concerning team logistics, including:
- Finalized departure schedules for all teams
- Accommodation arrangements in Karachi
- Training camp timelines and locations
Khizar Afzaal Chaudhary announced that training camps for all Punjab teams will be established at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex starting November 24. He emphasized the importance of thorough and disciplined preparations ahead of the prestigious national event.

"Punjab is committed to fielding its strongest possible contingent for the National Games," Chaudhary stated confidently. He revealed that the best athletes are being selected through transparent trials and will receive top-quality coaching from expert trainers during the training camps.
The provincial sports department is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that Punjab's representatives are well-prepared to compete at the highest level in the 35th National Games, demonstrating the region's commitment to sports excellence and athletic achievement.
