National Records Shattered at All Pakistan Long Range Shooting Championship in Multan
The seventh edition of the All Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah Open Long Range Shooting Championship, also known as the Chief of Army Staff Cup 2026, concluded with remarkable achievements and record-breaking performances. Organized by the Pakistan Long Range Rifle Association, the prestigious event was held in Multan from February 13 to 15, 2026, attracting elite marksmen from across the nation.
Elite Competition Across Provinces
A total of 61 accomplished marksmen from all four provinces participated in the championship, demonstrating exceptional skill and composure. The competition included a 15-member contingent from Balochistan, highlighting nationwide representation. Participants competed in eight challenging long-range rifle matches at distances ranging from 300 to 1,000 yards, performing admirably despite difficult weather conditions that tested their precision and endurance.
Champions and Record-Breakers
In the principal categories, Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Ali Zulfikar secured the Full Target Rifle Trophy, while Waleed Gul claimed the F-Class Freestyle Open Trophy. Lieutenant General Ehsan Gulrez triumphed in the Tactical Match, and Noor Zaman emerged victorious in the Iron Sight Rifle Match.
The individual events saw outstanding performances:
- Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Ali Zulfikar won the 300-metre Sporting Rifle Match
- Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez secured first position in the 900-yard FTR Match
- Junaid Waqas Iqbal claimed the first 1,000-yard FTR Match
- Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Ali Zulfikar won the second 1,000-yard FTR Match
- Waleed Ahmed Gul secured first place in both 1,000-yard F-Open Matches (Nos. 1 and 2)
Historic National Records Established
The championship witnessed the establishment of new national records that will be remembered in Pakistan's shooting history. Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Ali Zulfikar set a new national record in the FTR Aggregate category, demonstrating consistent excellence across multiple events. Meanwhile, Waleed Ahmed Gul established two new national records in the F-Open 1,000-yard category and the F-Open Aggregate, showcasing remarkable precision and skill at the longest competition distances.
