Rawalpindi Deploys 350+ Traffic Officers for Cricket Series Plan
Rawalpindi Cricket Traffic Plan: 350 Officers Deployed

The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police have rolled out an extensive strategy to manage traffic for the much-anticipated tri-nation cricket series hosted at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This proactive measure aims to prevent congestion and provide a seamless experience for thousands of cricket enthusiasts and local residents.

Major Traffic Personnel Deployment

To execute this large-scale operation, the authorities are deploying a significant force. Over 350 traffic officers and personnel will be stationed across key points in the city. Their primary role is to oversee the smooth movement of vehicles and assist citizens and fans navigating the area on match days.

Parking and Shuttle Service for Spectators

Understanding the challenge of parking, the police have designated three specific locations for vehicles. These are: Civil Aviation Ground Shahin Chowk, Shahbaz Sharif Park near Shahin Chowk, and the Government Graduate Degree College in Satellite Town. To bridge the gap between these parking zones and the stadium, a dedicated shuttle service will be available to transport spectators back and forth.

Key Road Closures and Diversion Routes

The traffic plan includes specific arrangements for peak times, such as during team movements. Murree Road will be temporarily closed to traffic from Faizabad to Double Road when the teams are arriving or departing. For commuters traveling from Islamabad, traffic will be redirected onto the Islamabad Expressway. Meanwhile, vehicles originating from Rawalpindi with a destination in Islamabad are advised to use 6th Road and Saidpur Road as their alternate route. These diversions are crucial for ensuring the safety and timely passage of the cricket teams and the general public.
