Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2029, the club announced on Tuesday. The 48-year-old former England midfielder secured promotion to the Premier League last season by winning the Championship title with the Sky Blues.
Lampard's Impact at Coventry
Lampard took over at Coventry in November 2024. In his first season, he guided the team to a playoff finish, but they lost to Sunderland in the semifinals. The following season, he led Coventry to the Championship crown, earning an automatic return to the top flight.
“I’d like to thank everyone at the football club,” Lampard said. “The fans first and foremost for how they’ve supported the team, myself and my staff in allowing us to get to where we’ve got to. The spirit and togetherness we created last year was something great to be part of and now we want to continue it.”
Premier League Return
Coventry will begin their 2026-27 Premier League campaign on August 21 with an away match against defending champions Arsenal. The club is aiming to establish itself in the top division under Lampard's long-term leadership.
