Pakistan's Farhan and Tariq Achieve Major Gains in ICC T20I Rankings

In the latest ICC T20I rankings released during the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup, Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan and spinner Usman Tariq have made significant strides, highlighting a period of mixed fortunes for the national team. Farhan has ascended two places to secure the third position in the T20I batters' rankings, positioning himself just behind England's Phil Salt in second place. India's Abhishek Sharma continues to lead the batting charts, despite a relatively modest performance in the tournament so far.

Batters Face Setbacks Amid Farhan's Rise

While Farhan's climb is a positive development, several other Pakistan batters experienced declines in the rankings. Opener Saim Ayub slipped three places to 34th, and former captain Babar Azam dropped one position to 36th. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha moved down to 38th, while Fakhar Zaman fell significantly to 88th, reflecting challenges in the batting lineup during the World Cup.

Bowlers Show Mixed Results with Tariq's Remarkable Leap

In the bowlers' rankings, spinner Abrar Ahmed slipped from third to fifth with 712 rating points, and Mohammad Nawaz dropped three places to 12th. Among the pacers, Salman Mirza rose one place to 18th, and Shaheen Afridi climbed four spots to 31st. However, the standout performer was Usman Tariq, who recorded a remarkable improvement by jumping 59 places to reach 55th. Spinner Sufiyan Muqeem dropped 10 places to 60th, while all-rounder Shadab Khan gained 10 spots to move up to 65th. Saim Ayub also fell 11 places in the bowlers' list to 66th, and pacer Haris Rauf slid five places to 81st.

Global Rankings and All-Rounders Update

India's Varun Chakaravarthy continues to lead the T20I bowlers' rankings, followed by Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan in second place. South Africa's Corbin Bosch emerged as the biggest mover among the top contenders, surging 21 places to claim third position. In the T20I all-rounders' rankings, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza reclaimed the top spot, overtaking Saim Ayub, who slipped to second. India's Hardik Pandya retained third place. Among other Pakistan all-rounders, Mohammad Nawaz dropped to ninth, Shadab Khan rose four places to 21st, while Faheem Ashraf and Salman Ali Agha slipped to 52nd and 53rd, respectively. Shaheen Afridi also improved his standing, climbing to 63rd in the all-rounders' list.

These updates come as the T20 World Cup progresses, with Pakistan players showing both promise and areas for improvement in the international rankings.
