Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori delivered a powerful address at the Governor House in Karachi, marking the celebration of Sindh Culture Day. He emphasized the province's historical role as a cradle of civilization and a beacon of peace, tolerance, and Islamic heritage.
A Land of Harmony and Historical Significance
Governor Tessori described Sindh as a unique land that has warmly embraced diverse nations, civilizations, and cultures throughout history. He paid tribute to the great Sufi saints of the region, including Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, Sachal Sarmast, and Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, who he said taught enduring lessons of love and peace.
Reflecting on history, he noted that the arrival of Muhammad bin Qasim established Sindh as the gateway for Islam in the subcontinent. He also highlighted Mohenjo-daro as a living testament to the province's ancient and glorious civilization. Concluding this part of his speech with passion, he exclaimed the popular Sindhi phrase, "Sindh Jaye, Sindh Wara Jeean!"
Public Welfare Initiatives and National Outlook
Shifting focus to contemporary efforts, Governor Tessori outlined several key public welfare programs launched under his initiative. These include:
- Providing free IT education to 50,000 children without any discrimination.
- Distribution of over one million ration boxes to deserving families across the country.
- Installation of a "Bell of Hope" at the Governor House to help resolve public grievances from all over Pakistan.
On the national situation, he expressed gratitude to Allah in all conditions and referenced the events of May 10, stating Pakistan defeated a force five times stronger. He appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for steering the country towards economic stability and progress. He also paid homage to the sacrifices of Pakistan Army soldiers in the fight against terrorism.
Saluting Security Forces and Operation Azm-e-Istehkam
Governor Tessori specifically lauded a recent successful security operation in Qalat district, Balochistan, where security forces eliminated 12 Indian-sponsored terrorists. He stated this achievement sends a clear message that no proxy elements can undermine Pakistan's security.
He affirmed that under the ongoing "Azm-e-Istehkam" resolve, security operations will continue until terrorism is completely eradicated. The determination and sacrifices of the security forces, he said, are a source of immense pride for the nation and are ensuring peace and stability across Balochistan and all of Pakistan.
This marks the third consecutive year the Sindh Culture Day ceremony has been organized at the Governor House, underscoring a continued commitment to celebrating the province's rich cultural tapestry.
