The Government of Sindh has announced a key administrative change in the education sector, assigning additional responsibilities to a senior official. Concurrently, the cultural scene in Karachi witnessed a significant event with the inauguration of a new art exhibition.

Administrative Reshuffle in Education Boards

In a notification issued by the Government of Sindh, Dr. Zahid Ali Chanar has been given an additional charge. Dr. Chanar, who currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE), Sukkur, will now also assume the responsibilities of the Chairman of BISE Hyderabad. This decision is effective immediately.

The notification directs that all official, demi-official, and secret correspondence intended for him should now be addressed to his name and this new designation. Officials and stakeholders can contact his office at the phone number 022-9260272.

Karachi Celebrates Sufi Art at Art Citi Gallery

In a separate event focusing on culture and arts, President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Muhammad Ahmed Shah, inaugurated an exhibition of artworks by renowned painter G.N. Qazi. The inauguration took place on Tuesday at the Art Citi Gallery in Karachi.

The exhibition, titled "Mohabbat Ki Sada" (The Call of Love), features a collection of 21 artworks. The collection is curated by F.S. Karachi Wala and draws its inspiration from the theme of Sufism. A central focus of the displayed pieces is the artistic portrayal of the shrine of the revered Sufi poet, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, capturing its spiritual depth and cultural significance.

Prominent Figures Praise Artistic Endeavor

The opening ceremony was attended by a notable gathering, including Chairperson of the Arts Council Women Empowerment Committee, Chand Gul Shah, prominent painter Shahid Rassam, Tanweer Farooqi, alongside numerous artists and art lovers. The artist, G.N. Qazi, was also present at the event.

Speaking at the inauguration, Muhammad Ahmed Shah commended the Art Citi Gallery, describing it as a magnificent space that genuinely supports art and artists beyond commercial interests. He praised G.N. Qazi for his skill in capturing the spiritual essence of Sindh's historic architecture in his work.

Shah specifically highlighted the artist's use of blue tones over red flowers, noting that this technique brings the compositions closer to nature. He also took the opportunity to announce that the upcoming 18th Aalmi Urdu Conference, scheduled to begin on December 25, will feature two art exhibitions as part of its programming.

These developments highlight ongoing activities in both the administrative framework of Sindh's education system and the vibrant cultural landscape of Pakistan's major cities.
