According to an official spokesperson from the Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Mal Department, this program has received formal approval from the chief minister. The initiative is designed to provide sustained financial assistance to 5,000 registered visually impaired citizens.

Resolution Through Dialogue and Job Quota
The announcement follows successful negotiations between provincial authorities and representatives of visually impaired protestors. Demonstrating a commitment to dialogue, senior departmental officers, acting on the directions of Punjab Minister for Social Welfare Sohail Shaukat Butt, engaged directly with the protestors.
Director General Social Welfare Tariq Qureshi played a pivotal role by holding detailed meetings with their representatives to address their demands comprehensively.
In a related and equally crucial development, the department has fortified its commitment by introducing a dedicated job quota for visually impaired individuals. This quota falls within the existing 3% disability reservation in government jobs.
To ensure immediate action, all government departments have been instructed to implement this quota without delay and to explicitly advertise posts that are reserved for persons with disabilities, thereby creating equitable employment opportunities.
