Four Police Personnel Martyred in Dera Ismail Khan Terrorist Ambush
In a tragic incident underscoring the ongoing security challenges, terrorists opened fire on a combined police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) search party in Dera Ismail Khan, resulting in the martyrdom of four police personnel, including a station house officer (SHO). The attack occurred during a targeted search operation, highlighting the persistent threat faced by law enforcement agencies in the region.
Details of the Cowardly Attack
According to official police reports, the search team from Paniala police station was conducting a routine operation in the village of Wanda Budh when they were suddenly ambushed by terrorists who had been lying in wait. The assailants unleashed a barrage of gunfire on the unsuspecting officers, leading to immediate casualties and chaos at the scene.
The fallen heroes have been identified as SHO Faheem Mumtaz Marwat, Constable Irfan Khan, Constable Ghulam Subhani, and Constable Wajahat Ali. Their sacrifice represents a profound loss for the police force and the community they served with dedication.
Injuries and Immediate Response
In addition to the martyrdoms, four other personnel sustained injuries during the violent assault. Among the wounded is DSP Hafiz Muhammad Adnan, whose condition, along with the others, is reported as stable after being swiftly transported to the Trauma Centre.
