In a significant blow to foreign-sponsored terrorism, Pakistan's security forces have successfully eliminated nine terrorists belonging to the Indian-backed proxy group, Fitna al Khawarij. The decisive operations were conducted in two separate districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, as confirmed by the military's media wing.
Dual Operations Neutralize Terrorist Threat
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) detailed that the first engagement was an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan District on December 19, 2025. Acting on confirmed intelligence about the presence of Khawarij terrorists, security forces effectively engaged their location. After a fierce exchange of fire, four terrorists were neutralized in this operation.
Simultaneously, a second intelligence-driven mission was carried out in Bannu District. This operation resulted in an intense firefight, leading to the death of five more Khawarij terrorists. According to the ISPR statement, weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain individuals, who were confirmed to be actively involved in numerous terrorist acts.
Link to Foreign Sponsorship and Ongoing Campaign
The military's statement explicitly identified the eliminated terrorists as Indian-sponsored Khawarij. It accused them of being involved in activities against security forces, law enforcement agencies, and the targeted killing of innocent civilians. This action is part of the broader, relentless counter-terrorism campaign being waged under the vision of "Azm-e-Istehkam," which was approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
Furthermore, the ISPR referenced a separate, heinous terrorist attack that occurred on the same date, December 19, in the general area of Boya, North Waziristan District. In this incident, Khawarij terrorists attempted to breach the perimeter security of a security forces camp. However, their attack was thwarted by the vigilant troops.
Sanitization and Resolve for a Secure Pakistan
Following the successful engagements, sanitization operations are currently underway in the affected areas. The goal is to eliminate any remaining terrorists and ensure complete security. The ISPR concluded its statement with a firm resolve, affirming that Pakistan's security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their efforts at full pace to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
This series of operations underscores the ongoing challenges in the region and the determined response from Pakistani forces to protect national security and civilian lives from externally fueled terrorist threats.
