In a decisive blow against terrorism, Pakistani security forces eliminated seven militants belonging to an Indian-sponsored group during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Dera Ismail Khan district. The operation, however, also saw the nation lose a brave soldier, who embraced martyrdom while fighting valiantly.
Operation Details and Fierce Firefight
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched on December 15, 2025, in the general area of Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan. The action was initiated after credible intelligence reports confirmed the presence of terrorists from the group Fitna al Khawarij, which the military describes as an Indian proxy.
During the intense exchange of fire, the security forces effectively engaged the terrorist location. Seven Khawarij terrorists were sent to hell as a result of the precise and effective response by the troops. The ISPR stated that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists, who were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities plaguing the region.
The Supreme Sacrifice of a Gallant Soldier
The success of the operation was marred by a profound loss. Naik Yasir Khan, aged 34 and a resident of District Mardan, fought with exceptional courage but paid the ultimate price. He embraced Shahadat (martyrdom) during the fierce firefight, defending his homeland against foreign-sponsored terrorism.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif separately paid rich tribute to the valour and sacrifice of Naik Yasir Khan. They described his martyrdom as a symbol of unwavering bravery and dedication to Pakistan, extending their heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family.
Leadership's Praise and Continued Resolve
Both the President and the Prime Minister commended the security forces for the successful execution of the operation, highlighting their professional conduct. The leadership reaffirmed the nation's unwavering resolve to eradicate the menace of terrorism completely.
The ISPR further stated that a sanitization operation is currently underway in the area to eliminate any other terrorists. This operation is part of the ongoing, comprehensive counter-terrorism campaign being pursued under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, which was approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.
The military's media wing emphasized that Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies will continue their operations at full pace to wipe out the threat of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistani soil, ensuring lasting peace and security for the nation.
