Lahore Dolphin Squad Arrests 14 in Drug Crackdown

In a significant crackdown on narcotics, Lahore's elite Dolphin Squad has apprehended 14 individuals involved in drug peddling across the city. The operations, which targeted multiple locations, led to the recovery of substantial quantities of illegal substances, marking a strong stance by law enforcement against the drug menace.

Details of the Raids and Arrests

The police action was carried out on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Teams from the Dolphin Squad conducted simultaneous raids in various areas of Lahore based on intelligence reports and surveillance. During these operations, a total of 14 suspects were taken into custody. The individuals arrested are alleged to be involved in the sale and distribution of drugs within the city.

The seized narcotics included a variety of illegal drugs. The recovered items consisted of 1.5 kilograms of hashish (charas), 500 grams of heroin, and a quantity of ice (crystal methamphetamine). The operation demonstrates the ongoing efforts of the Lahore Police to disrupt drug supply chains and apprehend those profiting from this illicit trade.

Weapons and Vehicles Also Confiscated

In addition to the drug haul, the police also confiscated items used in criminal activities. Two illegal pistols along with ammunition were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects. Furthermore, three motorcycles believed to be used for the transportation and delivery of narcotics were seized during the operations.

Initial police investigations suggest that the arrested individuals were part of a network operating in different localities. Cases have been registered against the suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, and further interrogation is underway to uncover more links and identify other members of the network.

Police Vow to Continue Crackdown

A spokesperson for the Lahore Police stated that these operations are part of a broader, sustained campaign against drug dealers in the city. The Dolphin Squad, known for its rapid response and street-level intelligence, plays a crucial role in this initiative. The police have urged citizens to report any suspicious activities related to drug peddling in their neighborhoods, assuring confidentiality and prompt action.

The successful operations have been hailed as a major step towards making Lahore safer for its citizens, particularly the youth who are often the target of such drug peddlers. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating the drug trade from the city and promised that such crackdowns will continue with increased frequency and intensity.
