ICT Police Intensify Crackdown: 61 Persons Checked, Arms & Suspects Nabbed in Major Raids
Islamabad Police Raids Nab Suspects, Recover Illegal Arms

In a significant move to bolster public security, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police launched a major search and combing operation on Friday. The large-scale action targeted areas under the Aabpara and Kirpa police stations, aiming to dismantle criminal networks and reassure citizens.

Wide-Scale Security Sweep Nets Arrests and Contraband

The operation was executed on the direct orders of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad. Senior zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs) supervised the activity, which saw the participation of women police officers as well. Police teams meticulously checked 61 individuals, searched 32 houses, and inspected 27 motorcycles along with nine vehicles during the course of the operation.

As a result of the verification process, two individuals and two motorcycles were deemed suspicious and taken to police stations for further legal proceedings. The operation led to the arrest of one suspect, from whose possession illegal arms and ammunition were successfully recovered. Police officials stated that the primary goal was to prevent crime, tighten the security net around criminal elements, and uphold law and order.

Parallel Action Against Liquor Leads to More Arrests

In a separate but simultaneous crackdown, the Sumbal Police team of ICT Police arrested five suspects during routine patrols and checking. Assistant Sub-Inspector Mir Zaman and his team recovered various types of liquor, including beer cans, from the possession of the five individuals.

Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under relevant laws, and the seized liquor has been taken into custody. The suspects are now in police lock-up, and investigators are working to trace the source of the liquor and uncover any potential organized network involved in its distribution.

Sustained Campaign for a Safer Capital

The police spokesperson emphasized that such grand search operations are part of a sustained campaign ordered by the IGP. These actions are being conducted across the entire district to eliminate criminal activities and ensure the safety and security of Islamabad's residents. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Sumbal reiterated that ICT Police are committed to taking indiscriminate action against all illegal activities, including narcotics and liquor, to maintain peace in the federal capital.

The successful operations underscore a proactive strategy by law enforcement to directly engage and disrupt criminal operations within the city, signaling a firm stance against threats to public order.
