Swift Police Operation Nets Attack Mastermind

In a significant breakthrough, law enforcement agencies have arrested the mastermind and facilitator behind Tuesday's devastating suicide attack on the Islamabad Judicial Complex. Officials confirmed on Thursday that the arrests were made during a swift operation conducted within 40 hours of the tragic incident that claimed at least 12 lives and left 36 others injured.

Dual Arrests Across Two Cities

The security operation spanned multiple cities, with authorities apprehending the facilitator from Dhoke Paracha in Rawalpindi, where he had been residing for the past month. Simultaneously, the handler was captured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, demonstrating the widespread nature of the terrorist network. According to police sources, both individuals had conducted multiple reconnaissance visits to the Judicial Complex before executing the attack.

Investigations revealed that the facilitator had been surveying key sites in the Rawalpindi cantonment area, indicating potential plans for further attacks. The arrested suspects have been moved to an undisclosed location for intensive interrogation as authorities work to uncover the complete network behind the assault.

Bomber's Foreign Identity Confirmed

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry provided crucial information about the attacker's background, confirming that the suicide bomber was of Afghan origin. Initial investigations uncovered that the attacker faced significant difficulties communicating in local languages and handling Pakistani currency, strongly indicating his foreign background.

Chaudhry further disclosed that the bomber had traveled across Islamabad using various motorcycles and encountered problems when paying fares in Pakistani rupees, suggesting recent entry into the country. This revelation highlights ongoing concerns about cross-border terrorism threats facing Pakistan.

With five suspects now in custody, including both the operational mastermind and logistical facilitator, security forces have demonstrated their capability to respond rapidly to terrorist threats. The successful operations within 40 hours of the attack marks a significant achievement for Pakistan's counter-terrorism efforts.
