Vehari Police Issue Fog Advisory, Deploy Extra Personnel

Authorities in Vehari have taken proactive measures to ensure public safety as heavy fog blankets the district, significantly reducing visibility on roads. District Police Officer (DPO) Tasawar Iqbal has issued a crucial traffic advisory, urging citizens to exercise extreme caution.

Traffic Advisory for Foggy Conditions

DPO Tasawar Iqbal has strongly advised the public to avoid all non-essential travel during the prevailing dense fog. For those who must venture out, the police have issued a comprehensive checklist for vehicle safety. Drivers are instructed to thoroughly inspect their vehicle's headlights, fog lights, brakes, windshield wipers, and defoggers before starting any journey.

The advisory lays down clear rules for motorists to follow. These include maintaining a slow speed, adhering to proper lane discipline, and keeping a safe distance from other vehicles. Overloading of vehicles has been strictly prohibited. Special instructions have been given to motorcyclists, reminding them that wearing a helmet is mandatory and that using mobile phones while riding is dangerous and illegal.

Enhanced Police Deployment for Assistance

To manage the situation and aid commuters, the Vehari police have deployed additional personnel on the roads. Extra police and traffic wardens have been stationed at key points and intersections to guide traffic, prevent accidents, and provide immediate assistance to anyone in distress due to the challenging weather conditions.

DPO Reviews Police Station Operations

Meanwhile, DPO Tasawar Iqbal conducted separate meetings with the district's follow-up and compliance staff and all Muharrers (station house officers). The purpose was to review and streamline core police operations across all stations in Vehari.

During these meetings, the DPO issued detailed instructions covering several critical areas. He emphasized the need for timely follow-up on court cases and the strict implementation of judicial orders. Other focal points included ensuring proper security duties, maintaining cleanliness in police stations, and the accurate registration of FIRs both online and manually. Accurate record maintenance was underscored as a top priority for administrative efficiency and transparency.

In a separate development from another region, Mukhtar Baloch was elected unopposed as the Chairman of the District Council in Gwadar.
