PPP's Soomro Holds Open Court in Larkana, Issues Directives

In a significant public outreach initiative, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Jameel Ahmed Soomro conducted an open court, or Kachehri, at Zulfiqar Bagh in Larkana city on Monday. The event saw a large gathering of citizens who brought their problems directly to the elected representative.

On-the-Spot Directives for Public Grievances

MPA Soomro attentively listened to the complaints and issued immediate, on-the-spot directives to officers from relevant departments. He stressed the need for a prompt and effective resolution of all public grievances. The MPA emphasized that the PPP is a people-friendly party that has consistently fought for public rights, social justice, and welfare. He stated that the common man remains the central focus of the party's politics, which believes in solving issues through direct public contact.

Soomro explained that this open court program was initiated under the directives of the Sindh government. For Larkana specifically, he listed several priority areas for resolution:

  • City cleanliness and sewage disposal
  • Minimization of load shedding by SEPCO
  • Ensuring complete availability of medicines in hospitals

Specific Instructions to Departments and Law & Order

The PPP leader gave clear instructions to officers from the Public Health Engineering department and SEPCO (Sukkur Electric Power Company), warning them against any delays in solving public problems. Regarding load shedding, he directed SEPCO officials present to reduce power outages so that water drainage systems could function and street lights remain operational. He also proposed that SEPCO should hold daily open courts at its own offices to address consumer complaints.

On law and order, Soomro urged the public to cooperate with the police to help recover stolen goods. He encouraged citizens to formally lodge complaints against criminal elements to aid investigations. He further instructed the Director of Local Government to resolve all pending departmental issues.

Healthcare, Jobs, and a Warning to Officials

Jameel Soomro also focused on healthcare, directing authorities to ensure the availability of medicines in hospitals and to ensure doctors remain present on duty. On the issue of employment, he announced that jobs for youth would be provided soon, but applicants must submit their applications formally.

The MPA concluded with a stern warning, stating that resolving public issues is the top priority and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated. He called on all relevant institutions to act responsibly.

The open court was attended by a host of senior officials, including Commissioner Larkana Division Tahir Hussain Sangi, Deputy Commissioner Larkana Dr. Sharjeel Noor Channa, Mayor Municipal Corporation Larkana Advocate Anwar Ali Luhur, and SSP Larkana Ahmed Chaudhry. Officers from various departments, civil society representatives, journalists, and a large number of citizens were also present.
