Major Breakthrough in High-Profile Robbery Case
In a significant development, a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) led by SSP Hyderabad Adeel Hussain Chandio has successfully dismantled the criminal gang responsible for the October 27 house robbery at the residence of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Zulfiqar Ali Behan in Noushehro Feroze district. The police spokesman announced this major breakthrough on Tuesday, marking the conclusion of an intensive cross-province operation.
Cross-Province Raids and Arrests
The 8-member team, which included Hyderabad-based Inspectors Naek Muhammad Khoso, Waheed Ali Shaikh, and Agha Asadullah Pathan, conducted a series of coordinated raids across multiple provinces. An inter-provincial gang of outlaws was arrested after multiple raids in Punjab, the spokesman confirmed. The investigation led police to conduct searches not only in Sindh districts like Karachi, Umerkot, and Sujawal but also in parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), and Balochistan.
During these extensive operations, numerous suspects were rounded up before authorities finally identified and apprehended those directly involved in the burglary where the MNA's family was held hostage at gunpoint.
Substantial Recovery of Stolen Items
The police operation resulted in the recovery of substantial stolen property and evidence. According to official statements, the recovered items include:
- 119.75 tola of gold
- Rs 5.3 million in cash
- The car used during the robbery
- 3 licensed guns
The investigation also revealed that the gang was active in various locations, with police conducting raids on wedding halls, banquets, and late-night chai dhabas as part of their crackdown on criminal networks operating across provincial boundaries.
