The tragic incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station, Chowk Sarwar Shaheed, near Adda Riazabad in Chak No. 618 TDA. The accused, identified as Sajjad Sheikh, is alleged to have strangled his wife, Razia Bibi, to death. In a bid to mislead authorities, he then concealed her body in a nearby cotton field.
To construct an alibi, Sajjad Sheikh reportedly inflicted knife injuries upon himself. He then approached the police with a fabricated story, claiming that his wife had attacked him before fleeing the scene. This initial account temporarily directed the investigation away from him.
