Commissioner Reviews Education, Health Sectors in Vehari

Multan Division Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan conducted a comprehensive review of public service delivery in Vehari on Monday, focusing on key developments in the education and health sectors. His visit underscored the administration's commitment to uplifting essential services for the region's residents.

Boosting Education with Technology and Development Funds

Speaking at the Government Islamia High School in Vehari, Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan highlighted the administration's efforts to enhance the education landscape. He particularly appreciated the establishment of a new IT Support Centre under the "Madar-e-Ilmi se Rabta" initiative. This project was made possible through the contributions of former student Dr. Manzoor Tariq and his family, aiming to strengthen technology-based learning for current students.

The Commissioner revealed that development schemes worth Rs. 240 million have already been completed across schools in the 14 tehsils of Multan Division. Deputy Commissioner Vehari, Khalid Javaid Goraya, alongside other education leaders, praised the IT education project, terming it essential for student progress in the modern age.

Directives for Healthcare Improvement at DHQ Hospital

Later, Commissioner Khan, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Khalid Javaid Goraya, visited the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Vehari for a thorough inspection. He reviewed critical areas including medical services, medicine availability, cleanliness, and emergency ward facilities.

The Commissioner interacted with patients and issued clear directives to the hospital administration. He emphasized that free medicines, better service delivery, and courteous behaviour from staff must be ensured at all times. His inspection covered the hospital pharmacy, patient records, washrooms, and the canteen.

Strict Monitoring and Immediate Action

Commissioner Khan ordered immediate improvements in the emergency ward's outlook and called for strict monitoring of food prices and quality in the hospital canteen. Demonstrating a zero-tolerance policy towards negligence, he instructed DC Goraya to launch an immediate inquiry based on a complaint received against an X-ray operator at the facility.

He stated that improving healthcare delivery and public convenience is a top priority under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. DC Goraya added that regular monitoring visits are being conducted to ensure the provision of free medicines, proper staff attendance, and overall improved hospital services.

The visit was also attended by Assistant Commissioner Vehari Anum Akram, CEO Health Dr. Fahad Waheed, Medical Superintendent Dr. Ahmed Farazp, and other senior officers.
