Chiniot DPO Holds Open Court at Mosque, Aligns with CM Maryam's Vision
Chiniot DPO Holds Open Court at Mosque on Friday

In a significant move to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the public, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Chiniot, Dr. Naveed Atif, organized a special open court at a local mosque. The event, held on a Friday, directly aligns with the community-centric vision of Punjab's Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

A Platform for Public Grievances

The open court was set up at Jamia Masjid in Mouza Rao Bagh, located on Lahore Road in Chiniot. The primary goal was to foster community policing and offer citizens a direct channel to voice their concerns. Senior police officials, including the Station House Officer (SHO) of Saddar Police Station and the In-charge of the Complaint Cell, were present to engage with the community.

Dr. Naveed Atif personally listened to the issues raised by attendees. He assured them that their problems would be addressed promptly and effectively. During the session, the DPO also took the opportunity to inform citizens about various people-friendly police services and new initiatives aimed at improving public service delivery.

Emphasis on Sunnah and New Directives

DPO Dr. Naveed Atif highlighted the religious and ethical significance of the initiative. He stated that listening to people's problems in a mosque follows the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The core purpose, he explained, is for authorities to proactively reach out to the community, understand their challenges, and work on solutions.

Furthermore, he briefed the worshippers on new traffic rules and instructed them to ensure compliance with these laws for everyone's safety. This blend of civic duty and religious tradition resonated strongly with the participants.

Ongoing Commitment to Accessibility

To ensure the continuity of this outreach effort, Dr. Naveed Atif made an important announcement. He declared that he would hold a regular open court in his office every departure day (typically Thursday) at 12 noon. He encouraged citizens to attend without any hesitation to report not only personal grievances but also any social evils or criminal activities in their areas.

This initiative marks a concrete step towards making the police force more approachable and responsive, turning the vision of accessible governance into a practical reality for the people of Chiniot.
