The joint meeting, which combined the Accident Review Committee, Axle Load Management Committee, and the Regional Transport Authority, was led by Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza. The gathering saw participation from senior figures including District Police Officer Bahawalpur Rana Abdul Wahab, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) and Secretary RTA Muhammad Tayyab, and District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Baqar Hussain. Addressing the attendees, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza emphasized that the Punjab government is implementing serious and effective measures aimed at ensuring road safety and preventing all forms of traffic mishaps. The discussion pinpointed specific areas requiring strict adherence. Vehicle fitness, proper installation of reflectors, and mandatory clearance through the Vehicle Inspection and Certification System (VICS) were highlighted as non-negotiable standards. Furthermore, Raza stressed the strict avoidance of overloading beyond the prescribed axle load, a major contributor to road damage and accidents.

The Deputy Commissioner made it clear that a substantial decrease in traffic accidents is achievable only through a comprehensive improvement of the transport system. This improvement must align strictly with the directives issued by the Punjab government. He assured the committee that the process of implementation regarding these road safety protocols has already been initiated in the district.
