7 Traffic Police Dismissed in Rahim Yar Khan

In a significant move to root out corruption, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Rahim Yar Khan, Irfan Ali Samo, has ordered the immediate dismissal of seven traffic police officials. This decisive action followed a rigorous internal inquiry that confirmed their involvement in corrupt practices.

Major Disciplinary Overhaul Ordered

The crackdown was not limited to dismissals. Seven other officers, including a Lady Sub-Inspector, also faced severe penalties for negligence and minor irregularities. The disciplinary measures were finalized on Monday during a formal 'Orderly Room' proceeding, which is an internal court-like session convened by DPO Samo.

This proceeding was specifically held to adjudicate pending show-cause notices issued to officers who were previously suspended on corruption charges. It also addressed various departmental representations, ensuring a thorough review of each case.

Officials Found Guilty and Dismissed

After a meticulous examination of all evidence and inquiry reports, DPO Irfan Ali Samo found seven officials guilty of gross misconduct. Consequently, the following personnel were dismissed from service with immediate effect:

  • Traffic Warden Noman Majeed
  • Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) Shahabuddin, Muhammad Zahid, and Aleemuddin
  • Constables Arshad, Jamshed Siddique, and Muhammad Arshad

Additional Penalties for Negligence

In addition to the outright dismissals, the DPO imposed varying degrees of punishment on other personnel. These penalties reflect a graded approach to discipline based on the severity of the infractions.

Traffic Warden Ahmed Imad Raza was penalized with the forfeiture of two years of service. ASI Traffic Fayyaz Ahmed faced a forfeiture of one year of service. A Lady Sub-Inspector had her annual increment stopped.

Furthermore, ASI Munir Ahmed and Constables Muhammad Munawar, Muhammad Tahir, and Muhammad Younas were all penalized with a reduction in pay for a period of two years.

This sweeping disciplinary action sends a clear message from the Rahim Yar Khan police leadership about its zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and misconduct. It underscores a commitment to accountability and professional integrity within the force, aiming to restore public trust in law enforcement.
