Security Forces Neutralize Coordinated Militant Attacks Across Balochistan
Security forces successfully thwarted a series of coordinated militant attacks at multiple locations across Balochistan on Wednesday, killing several assailants and regaining control of all affected areas within hours, according to official statements. The incidents occurred as part of what authorities described as an organized campaign by militants seeking to destabilize the province.
Multiple Locations Targeted in Simultaneous Assaults
Security sources confirmed that the attacks targeted law enforcement and security installations across several districts, including:
- Quetta
- Nushki
- Dalbandin
- Kalat
- Pasni
- Gwadar
Additional security posts in Balicha, Tump, Mastung, and Kharan were also reportedly targeted during the coordinated assault.
Detailed Account of Security Response
In Quetta's Saryab Road area, armed militants opened fire on a police van, prompting immediate retaliation from law enforcement personnel. Frontier Corps (FC) units quickly joined the operation, resulting in the elimination of four attackers and the successful securing of the area.
The Nushki district witnessed an attempted gun attack on the FC headquarters, but alert troops responded swiftly, forcing the assailants to flee without causing significant damage to the facility.
Similar incidents were reported in Dalbandin, where explosions were heard near the FC headquarters, prompting security forces to cordon off the area and launch comprehensive clearance operations. Officials confirmed that the situation was brought under control following these measures.
In Kalat, gunmen targeted the Deputy Commissioner's office and nearby police lines, triggering a brief but intense firefight. Security personnel successfully repulsed the attack and prevented any further escalation of violence.
Additional Attacks Foiled Across Coastal Areas
Militants reportedly fired at a Pakistan Coast Guards facility in Pasni and targeted a laborers' colony in Gwadar. Both attempts were foiled through timely intervention from police and FC units stationed in these areas.
Security forces also repelled grenade and long-range fire attacks on security posts in several other towns across the province, demonstrating comprehensive defensive capabilities.
Minimal Casualties and Damage Reported
Officials confirmed that only a few security personnel sustained minor injuries during the operations, with no major installations suffering significant damage. The successful containment of these coordinated attacks highlights the preparedness and responsiveness of security forces across Balochistan.
Context and Security Assessment
The latest wave of violence comes just days after intensified counterterrorism operations in various parts of the province. Security authorities have maintained that the overall situation remains firmly under control, reaffirming their commitment to protecting civilian populations and continuing targeted operations against militant networks operating in the region.
Security analysts note that these simultaneous attacks on both security forces and civilian areas underscore the persistent security challenges facing Balochistan. In response to these threats, law enforcement agencies have significantly stepped up patrols and surveillance activities to prevent further incidents and maintain stability across the province.
